Overall, it is worth a visit, but one should not forget that this place is only about twenty years old, or even less, and has no genuine historical depth. Everything is built from a mix of cement and sand-colored powder, which strips away any sense of authenticity and fails to convey a true historical atmosphere to visitors, since everything feels artificial and fabricated. The astonishing part is that the site is filled with Iranian windcatchers and old wooden ships from Iran. In my view, the rulers of this country are merely pursuing symbolic representation and fabricating a history for themselves.

A reflection of the past..but now within renovations housing newer and modern shops selling contemporary local and modern dress attire, herbs and spices etc. Restaurants and coffee shops line the Creek with numerous water taxis to take you on short boat tours up and down and across to the opposite side. At night this area takes on a romantic flare with families, tourists, locals and employees enjoying the calm and quiet of the night scene.

The place offers a unique experience both through the style of the traditional buildings and the vibe offered by the shops and the unique style of the merchants to attract you into their store. The view from the riverbank was one of the most beautiful spaces where I felt like I didn't want to leave. It is definitely worth visiting.

Dubai Old City is truly a fascinating place that captures the heart and soul of the city’s history. Walking through the narrow streets, you can feel the authentic charm of old Dubai — from the traditional souks filled with spices, gold, and fabrics, to the beautiful wooden boats crossing the creek. The area is full of character, culture, and friendly local people. It’s a perfect spot to experience the real Dubai beyond the skyscrapers — peaceful, colorful, and full of stories. A must-visit for anyone who wants to see where Dubai’s spirit was born!

It’s a beautiful reconstruction of the historic al seef area with many shops and restaurants. A really nice walk along the creek leads you to many alleys in the souk. Most of the marketplace is covered providing shade during daytime.
