A beautiful frozen waterfall in the heart of Korouoma Canyon. The hike is scenic and peaceful, and the ice formations in winter are absolutely stunning. Worth the trip if you love nature and don’t mind a bit of walking!
Its about a 5km walk, it was super cold, we dressed in 3 layers with gloves and after a few km we were so hot, it was an amazing experience and such a magical sight to see the frozen waterfalls. But will definitely dressed for a Hike next time.
It's not a long walk just to go to the waterfall (about 1.5km), and you don't need a guide - it's well-marked. There is also a longer circular route that also takes in the waterfalls which is about 4.5km long. The route to the waterfall is steep and it was fine for us in normal boots in the snow, but if this was icy it would be impossible - really you should bring shoe spikes at least to make things safer.
