Departing from Oughterard pier at twelve pm every Wednesday and Saturday from June to August, the cruise takes passengers on a journey across the lake, offering breathtaking views of the Connemara mountains and passing by some of Lough Corrib’s three hundred sixty five islands, including the stunning Inisheanbo. The highlight of the first leg is a stop at Inchagoill Island, where guests will enjoy a guided tour of St. Patrick’s ancient monastic site, featuring landmarks such as the fifth century St. Patrick’s Church, the Stone of Lugna, the Church of the Saints, and the tomb of Archbishop Muirgeas O’Nioc.
Following the island visit, the cruise continues to the world-famous Ashford Castle in Cong, arriving around one thirty pm. The village is well known as the filming location Hollywood classic The Quiet Man, and offers a charming setting for a stroll or lunch stop.
The cruise ticket includes entry to Ashford Castle’s gardens, allowing guests time to unwind and soak in the surroundings. At five pm, passengers reboard the Corrib Queen for a direct return cruise to Oughterard, arriving by approximately six pm.
