Nice place to visit. But we were there in winter. Sadly the weather is not perfect so we can't see the Ararat mountain.

Visiting Khor Virap was one of the absolute highlights of my trip to Armenia. The location is breathtaking — the monastery stands peacefully in front of Mount Ararat, creating one of the most iconic and unforgettable views I’ve ever seen. The history of the place is incredible, and you can truly feel its significance the moment you step inside the courtyard. The site is very well maintained, easy to explore, and perfect for photos. The atmosphere is calm and spiritual, yet accessible even for someone visiting for the first time. I especially appreciated how friendly and helpful everyone was, from the staff to locals offering small details about the monastery’s past. If you’re in Armenia, Khor Virap is an absolute must-see. The combination of history, scenery, and peaceful energy makes it a unique experience that stays with you long after you leave. Highly recommended!

Beautiful temple to visit. Most interesting thing to do is to go down the tunnel where Gregory the illuminator is imprisoned for 13 long years.

Alot of history here.. And amazing views of Mt Ararat. You can also enter down into where St Gregory was imprisoned.

Another historical sight. Must see, also if you are lucky and there on a clear day, you will get an amazing view of Ararat & Masis mountains. Inside the church is very hot if you are there on a hot day. There are to dungeons there, one is about 30 ft deep, the one is is 8 ft deep, But the shorter one is more difficult to get in.
