This is my favorite airport in the world! It is highly functional, has frequent bus connections to the city at a ridiculously low price (30 Tetri. It is the equivalent of 11 US cents! The # 10 bus is clean and modern and it takes me from the park opposite metrocity to the airport in 6 to 7 minutes. The bus stops at the entrance to the departures hall which is 30 meters from the check in desk :-) It accepts credit cards (tap and go). The primeclass lounge at the departures zone is excellent. The food is yummy (pankow crumbed chicken fillet, aubergine-pepper stew, restaurant quality thin french fries etc. There are 3 or 4 dogs 🐶 that roam around and are very friendly (they are well fed) and there are armed policemen and a patrol car that is constantly on guard. I not only enjoy the compact size and fast check in and passport control, I also feel safer in this airport than in most countries (certainly safer than in airports in Europe). Yes, the exchange rate at the arrivals Hall is very bad but you don't need to change money here. Many money exchanges in Batumi are open 24/7 and casinos also change money at a very favourable rate. Simple! Simply board the # 10 bus, tap your credit card and arrive at the center of Batumi in 10 to 12 minutes.

They have an incredible stupid rule, not allow to enter the security zone until registration of your flight opens, even if you’re already checked in and have a boarding pass. So they force you to look for one of the few seats at the entrance and wait for registration. Ashaming for an, „international airport“. As a frequent traveler who have been at many airports all over the world, Batumi is the only one with no possibility to enter Lounge and to work between travel.

The airport security bullied my girlfriend, laughed at her possessions and threw away her spicy Chipotle sauce. That sauce was so delicious with tacos and only available in Mexico. The lady told my girlfriend to eat it raw, as if she thought it was poisonous or drugs or something. I see many other reviews here suggesting they are overly aggressive towards certain nationalities. Another security staff lady used the 'R' slur against me, but to be fair, I was asking her some retraded questions 🤷🏻♂️

The airport is small and needs a lot of organization, improvements, and renovations. The procedures take a long time and are very slow. In addition, the shops, cafés, and restaurants are very expensive.

The airport is functional and serves its purpose well. Check-in and security procedures were relatively smooth. While the facilities are basic, everything was clean and organized. Staff were helpful and polite, which made the experience more comfortable.
