Embark on a captivating coastal journey from the picturesque fishing village of Howth and explore the unspoiled beauty of Howth's UNESCO Biosphere on a boat tour around Ireland's Eye. This remarkable nature reserve is protected under EU habitats and forms the core zone of the Dublin Bay Biosphere recognized by the United Nations. As you circle the island, you will be treated to breathtaking views of towering cliffs, hidden sea caves, and charming harbours. One of the most striking features is the massive freestanding rock known as the Stack, located at the northeastern corner of the island, which serves as a sanctuary for a wide variety of seabirds. Visitors can enjoy watching vibrant colonies of puffins, seagulls, gannets, guillemots, and cormorants as they thrive in this pristine environment. The surrounding waters are also home to playful seals, providing a rare opportunity to observe Ireland’s diverse marine life up close.
Your knowledgeable local skipper will share fascinating stories of maritime history while guiding you along untouched coastlines, legendary rock formations, and ancient ruins. The boat glides through sparkling Atlantic waters, offering fresh sea air and uninterrupted views of the natural scenery. Each trip promises unique sights and memorable experiences as wildlife and landscape reveal new wonders with every turn. The tour operates throughout the year but is subject to weather conditions to ensure safety and comfort. Groups are kept small to create an intimate connection with the environment and allow for a more immersive experience in nature. Although landing on the island is not permitted, the journey around Ireland's Eye provides a perfect combination of adventure, education, and relaxation, leaving visitors with lasting memories of Ireland’s rugged and enchanting coastline.

very good experience, it was very windy that day, but the boat driver was very good, I just didn't like that we didn't put on the life jackets, but they were under the seats.

Our Skipper Maggie created a magical and informative boat tour of the cliffs that will stand out as our whole family’s highlight of our trip to Ireland. Just the perfect mix for us of relaxation and education in a gorgeous setting at sea. Cheers, Maggie!

This experience was a highlight of our vacation! Our guide was great, discussed interesting facts and myths about the area, very interactive. Boat allows movable space without feeling crowded.

We had a very positive experience with Howth Cliff Cruises. They had to change our booking as with tidal conditions changing, the earliest drop on the island was to be the 14:20 sailing. The boat can take a lot of people comfortably. We disembarked onto a smaller boat as it was easier to go from this boat onto the island.
