Kotor, a stone-walled town and historic seaport, lies at the southern edge of the beautiful Bay of Kotor in Montenegro. Its narrow streets, impressive city walls, and medieval palaces reveal stories shaped by centuries of maritime power and noble life. Well-preserved aristocratic family homes still reflect the town’s golden age, creating a living picture of its past. This exceptional cultural heritage has been recognized and protected by UNESCO, making Kotor one of the most significant historical destinations in the region.

After visiting Kotor, the journey continues to the small coastal town of Perast, often described as a hidden gem of the Bay of Boka. This charming baroque town is famous for its elegant architecture and the unique man-made island of Our Lady of the Rocks, featuring a 17th-century chapel rich in legend. Sometimes called an open-air museum, Perast offers peaceful scenery, fascinating local stories, and unforgettable views that complete this memorable tour experience.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10 – The Highlight of Our Entire Trip We visited Montenegro in early October and booked with Liset and Daniel from Kotor Private Tours — and I can honestly say it was one of the best tour experiences I’ve had anywhere in the world. From the start, communication was excellent. Liset was super responsive and helpful before and during the trip, keeping everything clear and perfectly organized. Daniel met us right at the port in Bar when our cruise ship docked and made us feel instantly welcome. Our tour through Budva and Kotor was beautifully coordinated — seamless transitions, well-timed stops, and just the right balance of history and sightseeing. Daniel’s explanations were concise yet rich in historical context, and his storytelling brought Montenegro’s culture to life. Both Budva and Kotor are stunning, especially Kotor — absolutely charming and full of character. Montenegro ended up being the literal highlight of our entire trip. If you’re visiting by cruise or independently, I can’t recommend Kotor Private Tours highly enough. Liset and Daniel are total professionals — friendly, knowledgeable, and very practical with time management (which was key for our limited port hours). Highly recommended — 10/10 experience!

This tour was my favorite day of the entire cruise! The guide and driver were wonderful and both spoke excellent English. We loved the cable car ride and the alpine coaster at the top of the mountain. The family style lunch was delicious and in a beautiful setting. We stopped several times for photos in the mountains - the scenery was magnificent! The tour operator consulted with me beforehand about which places to go and made recommendations which turned out great. Very highly recommended!

Liset arranged an amazing tour for our family. We took a boat from Budva out to the blue caves and a tour around old town in Budva. Everyone was very prodessional and friendly. I would highly recommend anyone use Kotor Private Tours when in the area. I would definitely use again if ever in Montenegro.

We traveled as a group of four to Montenegro for the first time in June, and we wanted to spend three days of tours with food/drink, boating, history, and nature. It was easy and wonderful to work with Liset of Kotor Private Tours to plan these days - she sent a ton of great options to choose from and organized everything, including transfers from our Airbnb. Our tour guides and the activities were all amazing! We especially loved the prosciutto smokehouse tour, the views from the Mausoleum, and the oyster and mussel farm stop in our great boat ride around the Bay of Kotor. I would highly recommend Kotor Private Tours!
