VISIT TO THE AMETHYST MINE IN SUMMER/AUTUMN

We will pick you up in the morning from your accommodation and travel to the Lampivaara hill area in Luosto. From the parking area, we will begin a scenic walk of approximately two and a half kilometers through the beautiful Pyha Luosto National Park. The trail leads uphill through peaceful forest landscapes, offering a true connection with Lapland nature. After reaching the top, we will stop briefly at the cafeteria before continuing to the amethyst mine.

At the mine, you will learn about this unique amethyst deposit that is more than two billion years old and still worked entirely by hand without machinery. After the explanation, you will enter the mine and dig for your own amethyst using traditional tools. If the stone fits inside your fist, you may keep it as a souvenir. After the mining experience, you can visit the small shop where handcrafted amethyst jewelry is made. At the end of the tour, we will return you to your accommodation.
