We got a concise and informative tour even with the free tour. No frills though worth the time spent. We saw a bit about the history and process then got to taste the result. We bought a few small bottles as souvenirs. Good for a quick stop and it helped us understand the region’s most important product better.

My wife and I had a great experience with Martina’s olive tour. She was very knowledge, friendly, and made sure everyone go to try every product they had. We visited late in October so there wasn’t much of a crowd but I can see an area for large tour buses which leads me to believe it can get very busy here. Highly recommended!

We visited Vassilakis Estate in Crete—an olive oil company that’s been running since 1865. They offer a free tour of the mill, and while it’s “free,” you’ll definitely end up buying something in their shop (which we happily did). The grounds are beautiful, and the history behind the estate gives the visit extra charm. We tasted several olive oils, vinegars, and even some body oil products. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and unique compared to what you find in grocery stores. The shop is well-stocked, and the products make great souvenirs or gifts to take home. Overall, a nice stop if you want to see how olive oil is made and enjoy some authentic local products.

We had a wonderful visit to the olive oil estate and booked a picnic/oil/wine tasting experience. The four of us were hosted by Helene, a wine and oil sommelier who walked us around the estate explaining the olive oil growing and manufacturing process. We then adjourned to some small tables and benches set amidst the olive trees for our tasting and picnic. The food-Greek salad, charcuterie, crostini, fruit and more -was an ample lunch and was paired with 3 local wines. The experience was absolutely magical and it was so great meeting and talking with Helena. After a leisurely lunch we were then guided to the gift shop where it was possible to enjoy free tastes of almost everything else, even though we were quite full from lunch. I’d definitely recommend this experience to take a break and enjoy Greek food and drink.

We started the tour almost straight away and had our own tour guide for just three of us. Our tour guide Elena was lovely. She had great English and was very informative. The tour was really interesting, showing us old and newer methods of making olive oil. We got to taste and try and lots of products. They will let you try any product in the store. There's no pressure to buy but there are lots of nice products. Staff all really polite. You are done within an hour and there is nothing else really around in this area, unless you are doing wine tasting or something as well.
