Inside St. John’s Fort, visitors can explore the Maritime Museum, which has no strict time limit for visits during opening hours (Thursday to Tuesday, 09:00–18:00, closed on Wednesdays and on Christmas, New Year, and the Feast of St. Blaise). The museum houses over 4,000 artifacts, including 17th and 18th century ship models, nautical instruments, maritime maps, flags, cannons, ship logs, and other rare items that illustrate Dubrovnik’s rich seafaring heritage. The exhibits trace the development of Dubrovnik’s maritime trade and shipbuilding from its earliest beginnings through the era of the Dubrovnik Republic, as well as its later revival with steamship navigation up to World War II and beyond.
