Cape Town offers one of the most stunning locations to watch the sunset from the sea. With the Atlantic Ocean stretching from the iconic Table Mountain range, this cruise is a must for both locals and tourists. Guests can enjoy the serene beauty of the ocean while toasting the setting sun from the deck of a luxury vessel with a complimentary glass of local sparkling wine. A cash bar is available for additional drinks including soft drinks. Children are welcome at a special price, though this is primarily an adult experience and no alcohol is served to minors. Weather in Cape Town can change rapidly, so the cruise route from the harbor may vary. Regardless of the path taken, guests are guaranteed a spectacular and memorable experience.
The cruise includes food and drinks along with hotel pickup and drop-off, breakfast, bottled water, and coffee or tea. Certain items like alcoholic drinks outside the included offers, DVD, and souvenir photos are available for purchase separately. The experience accommodates infants with special seating and is partially wheelchair accessible, though not suitable for strollers or pets. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and infants are not permitted to sit on laps. Guests are recommended to dress comfortably in casual attire suitable for an active outing, and passports are required for identification. We booked a safari tour on dec 25th and came from CapeTown - approx.2h 15min by car which was totally fine. We were not only lucky to see 4/5 BigFive on our safari tour but with Tyler also had a great tour guide! He explained a lot and made safari so much more fun than it already is. Thank you!

Aquila is a very good option for first-time safari visitors and is quite affordable considering how close it is to Cape Town. We were lucky to see elephants crossing right in front of us and had close-up views of roaming lions, which was a real highlight. The experience was well organised and the guides were knowledgeable. Just be aware that the game drive can be quite rocky and bumpy, so be prepared for that. Overall, a great first safari experience and definitely worth it.

Mixed feelings about Aquila Game Reserve. I’ve been here a few times before and it’s generally a good day out—or even a night or two if you’re staying over. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing. I got food poisoning again from the open buffet, which raises concerns about kitchen hygiene. I spent the entire night vomiting with diarrhoea. To make matters worse, there is no phone in the room to contact reception. The game drive also felt rushed this time. Previously, the experience was much slower and more informative, with proper briefings explaining the wildlife and surroundings. This time, it felt more like a quick drive just to get back to the drop-off point. That said, Aquila is still a good place overall. The facilities are clean and well maintained, and the property itself is clearly looked after. However, the food quality and guest communication are major issues that really need attention.

We had a fantastic stay as a family (1 x 10 month old on board!). Welcome drinks excellent. We stayed in the Karoo cottage with the world’s biggest bed. Suitable for a young family with a cot (one child). Great air con too! The game drive was incredible, if bringing a child it’s a bit of a bumpy ride so bring a secure carrier and we would suggest keeping them facing inwards. We saw all the animals up close and our guide was excellent too! The kids area was open from 7, Jasmine was so unbelievably excellent with our little one as we played together! Food was a buffet service for all 3 meals but a great variety and delicious dinner food. Wine was great too. We had a windy few days so struggled with the lack of shade around the pool (although that is nobody’s fault), and the pool was quite chilly, which on a hot day is welcomed! All in all, great work team. Thoroughly recommended!

Aquila Private Game Reserve exceeded our expectations in every way. The atmosphere was elegant from the moment we arrived, and the staff were incredibly welcoming — genuinely friendly and always willing to go above and beyond. The game drives were unforgettable; we were lucky enough to see elephants, lions, springbok, hippos, zebras and rhinos up close. The spa facilities were also exceptional and added an extra touch of luxury to our stay. Overall, a beautifully run reserve that blends comfort, nature, and service perfectly. Highly recommended.
