About this activity

Join us for an exclusive early morning guided wild deer viewing safari in the breathtaking Connemara landscape. This is your opportunity to spot these majestic creatures in their natural habitat, offering a perfect chance to capture the stunning scenery on camera.

The most thrilling time for deer watching is during the 'rut' in early to mid-October, when red deer engage in dramatic courtship displays. Witness hormonally charged males vying for their harems and, if you're lucky, you may even observe two stags locked in an intense antler clash. The air will be filled with their barking and the sound of antlers clashing. Binoculars will be provided for the best viewing experience.

Detailed instructions, times, and directions to the meeting point will be sent after booking. Please arrive at dawn at the designated spot. Your local guide will meet you there, and you'll embark on the safari in a comfortable 4x4 vehicle, traveling through a privately owned wilderness of mountains, bogs, heaths, grasslands, and woodlands as you track the deer. Learn about the unique flora, fauna, and the rich history of the area from your expert guide. Hot drinks and biscuits will be provided, ensuring a cozy and memorable experience. The tour concludes back at the vehicle by around 9 am.
