This tour begins near the Norwegian National Opera House, one of Oslo’s architectural highlights, with the meeting point at the “Creature from Iddefjord” sculpture outside Deichman Bjørvika Library. As we walk along the waterfront, you’ll discover fascinating details about the urban development of the Bjørvika district, including the Munch Museum, the Opera, and the growing floating sauna landscape, along with other surprising buildings. The tour then continues to the Kvadraturen district, where we explore the city’s history, including its 300-year period as Christiania, and ascend to the highest point of the Akershus Fortress grounds for stunning views over the Oslofjord. On clear days, you may even spot the famous Holmenkollen Ski Jump.

From there, we move towards Oslo’s city center along Karl Johan Street, highlighting key landmarks such as the Norwegian Parliament, National Theatre, and Royal Palace, with tips for shopping and entertainment. The tour concludes at Oslo’s City Hall and the Aker Brygge district, where I provide recommendations for visiting the National Museum, Nobel Peace Centre, restaurants, and Oslofjord tours. For those opting for the Vigeland Park add-on, we board the tram at Aker Brygge to visit the world’s largest sculpture park created by a single artist, ending the extended tour there. As an independent guide, I design tours with personal insights and authentic stories, offering a private-tour feel with small group sizes of 2-4, while keeping group tour prices.
