This remarkable aircraft was built in 1944 and became known by the Navy as the T-6, earning various nicknames over the years including Texan, Harvard, Yale, J-Bird, and Mosquito. Originally designed as a training plane, it was also adapted for use as a fighter due to its versatility, making it a significant piece of aviation history. A flight in this aircraft offers an unforgettable experience for any aviation enthusiast, allowing you to feel what it was like to pilot a plane from the World War II era.

In addition to the flight itself, you have the option to enhance your experience with a visit to the Aviation Museum either before or after taking to the skies. Great place to learn about the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in World War II as well as Navy aviation. Great location with flight simulators for everyone that wants to be a pilot. There is a well stocked store and very clean snack bar with lots of tasty treats. The tower has magnificent views of Ford Island as well as Pearl Harbor and the surrounding mountains. Great place to visit for both young and old and they still have bullet holes from the original attack.

The museum and staff are great. There's a ton of aircraft history here! Also, while it does cost extra, I really appreciated going up the tower. The views of the harbor, city and island are pretty amazing. The guide was really informative ! I'm not fond of heights but it was totally worth it to me.

This place, while beautiful, is not worth a stand-alone entrance fee. They have some very nice planes on display but not enough for a $30 charge. My suggestion would be that it should be added on to the Missouri's entrance fee by maybe $10. The attached video is basically the entire aviation museum.

Visiting the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum was an incredible experience from start to finish. The moment you step inside, you can feel the history come alive. The exhibits are thoughtfully designed, showcasing everything from World War II aircraft to modern military jets, and each display tells a powerful story of courage, innovation, and sacrifice. The museum does an outstanding job of blending education with emotion. Walking through Hangar 37 and Hangar 79, you get to see bullet holes from the attack on Pearl Harbor still visible on the glass—an awe-inspiring reminder of what took place right there on Ford Island. The aircraft are beautifully preserved, and the interactive exhibits make it enjoyable for all ages. The staff and volunteers were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, eager to share details and personal stories that made the visit even more meaningful. I especially enjoyed the flight simulator—it was a fun way to experience what it might have been like to pilot one of those legendary planes. Overall, the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates history, aviation, or simply wants to better understand the bravery that shaped our nation. It’s not just a museum—it’s a powerful journey through time that leaves you with a deep sense of respect and gratitude. Would highly recommend making this a key stop when visiting Oahu!

A Must-See For Aviation and History Enthusiasts Alike The Aviation Museum at Pearl Harbor is a fascinating destination for anyone interested in military history and aviation. The museum showcases an incredible collection of historic aircraft, including World War II fighters and bombers, and provides context about their roles during pivotal battles in the Pacific. Walking among these planes gives you a tangible sense of the scale, technology, and bravery involved in wartime aviation. One of the highlights of the visit is Hangar 79, where you can see the bullet holes from the attack on December 7, 1941. The preserved structure and accompanying exhibits offer a sobering glimpse into history, showing just how much these sites endured. It’s a humbling experience to see the scars of the past while learning about the events that shaped the Pacific theater. The museum is well-organized, with informative displays and knowledgeable staff who make the experience both educational and engaging. From historic aircraft to the preserved hangars, every corner of the Aviation Museum tells a story of courage, innovation, and resilience. For anyone visiting Pearl Harbor, this museum is an essential stop that complements the USS Arizona Memorial and other historic sites.
