Kanarraville Falls

The trek to Kanarraville Falls is a moderately challenging 4.8-mile round-trip hike that begins at the Kanarra Creek Trailhead, leading hikers along dirt paths and rocky terrain before narrowing into a beautiful slot canyon where multiple creek crossings are required, offering cool, refreshing water against the warm desert climate. As the trail winds deeper into the canyon, towering multicolored sandstone walls rise dramatically on both sides, creating an adventurous and scenic atmosphere filled with natural obstacles like rocks and logs. The highlight of the hike is Kanarraville Falls, where water cascades over smooth rock faces into clear pools, with the first major waterfall reached early on by climbing a metal ladder secured into the rock. Continuing farther upstream reveals additional waterfalls, smaller cascades, and peaceful resting spots, each providing excellent photo opportunities, while the shifting light and shadows within the narrow canyon enhance the experience, especially during early morning or late afternoon hours.
