Kilimanjaro Expedition Combines High Altitude Trek with African Safari Experience

The International Mountain Climbing School is offering a guided expedition to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, paired with an additional safari experience in one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife regions. The program is led by guide Craig John, an experienced high-altitude mountaineer with extensive expedition history across Alaska, the Himalaya, and the Andes.

The seven-day ascent follows the Machame Route and is designed to prioritize safety, acclimatization, and steady progression toward Africa’s highest peak. Participants are supported by a full in-country team of guides, porters, and cooks who manage logistics, route planning, and daily operations throughout the climb.

The expedition includes comprehensive support services such as three daily meals prepared by trained chefs, mid-route food resupply, purified water, hygienic camping facilities, and solar-lit tents equipped for comfort at altitude. Safety provisions include oxygen systems, a portable stretcher, oximeter monitoring, a Gamow bag, and a full medical kit, along with evacuation coverage through AMREF Flying Doctors.

Additional services include airport transfers, 24-hour support from Arusha, and all park and camping fees. Participants are responsible for international travel, insurance, personal gear, and gratuities. With expert leadership and full logistical support, the expedition offers a structured and secure way to experience both the challenge of Kilimanjaro and the richness of an African safari.
