Black Hound Clay Studio South presents a handbuilding class led by Maria Albornoz, designed for students of all skill levels who want to explore slab, coil, and pinching techniques. Over the course of the program, participants will create both functional and decorative tableware, including butter dishes, salt and pepper shakers, serving dishes, candleholders, vases, and other unique adornments for the home. The class emphasizes hands-on practice, encouraging students to slow down, connect with the clay, and express their individual artistic style through the design of thoughtful, personal pieces.

In addition to handbuilding techniques, students will explore a variety of decorating methods such as sgraffito, carving, paper and tape resist, underglazing, and glazing to add texture, color, and depth to their creations. The supportive studio environment allows participants to experiment freely and develop confidence in their skills. Flexible installment payment options make this course accessible to a wide audience, and by the end of the class, students will leave with a curated collection of handbuilt pieces ready to enjoy and share.
