A long but incredibly rewarding journey, this adventure takes us from Christchurch inland through some of the South Island’s most iconic landscapes before reaching the alpine playground of Queenstown. Continuing south, we arrive in Te Anau, the gateway to Fiordland National Park, where the scenery grows increasingly dramatic. The highlight for many is the journey into Milford Sound, where towering cliffs, waterfalls, and deep dark waters set the scene for a memorable nature cruise through one of the world’s great fiords.
Leaving Fiordland behind, we travel further south to Invercargill before tracing the wild and rugged Catlins Coast in the remote south-east corner of the island. This lesser-visited region rewards us with windswept beaches, waterfalls, native forests, and abundant wildlife. Turning north once more, we pass through Dunedin with its rich heritage and coastal views, before completing our loop back to Christchurch, having experienced an extraordinary cross-section of New Zealand’s southern landscapes.
