Designed for beginners and young riders aged 7-16, the School Holiday Horse Play Day at Bonogin Valley Horse Retreat provides a fun and educational introduction to horses. Over the course of six hours, participants learn essential horse care and handling skills while building confidence in balanced riding, preparing them to trot away with assurance. The program emphasizes safety, independence, and bonding with horses, giving children a hands-on experience with grooming, feeding, and leading their equine partners under expert supervision.
In addition to standard horse play activities, special feature days are available by request, including Medieval Horse Sports, Horse Archery, Western riding skills, and Polocrosse. Held in small groups of 1-6 participants, the program encourages physical and mental development, coordination, balance, and confidence. Helmets and horses are supplied, and participants are advised to wear long pants and closed-in shoes, bringing their own snacks and lunch. This experience offers a safe, fun, and structured environment for young riders to deepen their connection with horses while developing valuable life skills.
