No experience is required for this thrilling Denali whitewater adventure, just a sense of excitement and willingness to embrace the rapids. The journey begins at the entrance to Denali National Park, The Canyon, and travels 11 river miles through the stunning Nenana River Canyon to Healy, Alaska. Over the course of two hours, guests will encounter more than ten major Class III to IV rapids, including favorites like Razorback, Iceworm, Cable Car, Royal Flush, and Coffee Grinder. The river runs alongside the Denali National Park frontier, with the impressive Mt. Healy rising over 3,000 feet, creating a dramatic backdrop for this high energy adventure.
Guests can choose between an Oar Raft, where a guide handles the rafting, or a Paddle Raft for a more hands-on experience. Both options are fully guided to ensure safety and fun. Each participant receives a full drysuit to stay warm and dry, while river booties protect your feet, and shoes remain at the check-in office. Long pants, long sleeves, and synthetic layers are recommended for comfort. This river trip combines breathtaking scenery, thrilling rapids, and expert guidance, making it a memorable outdoor adventure for anyone 12 years and older.
