Martin was incredible rude and disrespectful on the phone. This company has some of the worst service I’ve ever received. They did not answer our phone calls for many days and did not even bother to call us back while we had an active rental. They are not whatsoever accommodating to chance so you better make sure nothing goes away from the plan, or else they will charge you large unexpected amounts. I STRONGLY suggest another rental company if you value respect and common decency.
Typical upsale at every rental place. Know your credit card insurance details. Use dot-com website vs dot-ie to avoid CDW. Make sure to book under driver name. Budget boy was a plus, pleasant to deal with! ....Updating for after we returned the car. Return was smooth, I didnt get the guys name either time but he was very quick and efficient and friendly. Overall one of the best car rental experiences I've ever had!
Honestly, I felt scammed attending here to hire a car for a week. In all my years of hiring cars overseas, I have been able to use a debit card with a “hold” placed on the card in case of damages. Budget refused to accept a debit card in our case and given we found this out at check in, we had no choice but to upgrade our booking to top insurance at the cost of 100’s of Euro’s extra or forfeit our booking and costs paid already. This same issue was occurring simultaneously to the people next to us when checking in. No alternative was provided and we could not change the listed driver! To be fair I suppose, this rule was buried deep in the T&C’s. I will definitely not be bringing my business back here in the future. Also, the car that was rented to us was old and run down.
We recently rented a car from Budget through Sunny Cars for our 9-day road trip around Ireland, and the experience was truly excellent. Picking up the car went very smoothly - no long queues, friendly staff, and an efficient process. The employees took the time to explain everything thoroughly and we were on our way in no time. What particularly impressed us was their flexibility. During our trip, our return flight was changed, meaning we needed to drop off the car at a different location. As expected, there was an additional fee for this change, but Budget handled it professionally and transparently. The process was straightforward and the costs were reasonable considering the convenience it provided us. Returning the car was also quick and easy. The staff were once again very friendly and helpful. For anyone wanting to explore Ireland: Budget is highly recommended. Reliable service, good cars, and flexible solutions when needed. We will definitely book with them again!
Great service! Easy pick up and drop off experience (we picked up at this location and dropped off at the airport, where shuttle to terminal was as well provided) When renting car in Ireland Make sure you have letter from Insuranse if you are from Canada and want to save on collision damage waver. If you using credit car insurance you can call your bank and they will email that letter to you. Wish there was a sign for rental car that indicates that person is a tourist driver. Like L for learners and N for new drivers. I think that’d help other drivers to be more cautious of drivers that typically don’t drive on the left and need time to adjust. Don’t forget, drive on the left!
