We had the best day fishing with our guide, Mike, of Yellowstone River Outfitters! I had a little experience fly fishing, but the other two in our group had zero experience. Mike was so great about teaching the basics, setting up our rods, and giving pointers throughout the day… and completely unphased when he had to untangle our lines or rescue a snagged fly for the tenth (or fifteenth) time. 😊 The Gardner River was low and warm so fishing was tough, but he kept us moving and changing our gear and strategy until everyone caught at least one fish. And seemed just as excited about our success as we were. We had the best time! I will definitely use YRO again next time I’m in Yellowstone.

This was my 2nd time fishing with Yellowstone River Outfitters and it will definitely not be the last. Spent 2 days with Buddy and Dave. First we waded the Lamar River catching 2 lb cut throat while dodging bison. The following day we floated the Yellowstone River. They had us on fish the entire time. Great guides and even better people. Their knowledge of the rivers and fly fishing was amazing. Highly recommend!

Buddy was the best fly fishing guide we could have asked for! We did a full day walk-wade guided trip. Buddy was patient in teaching the basics and adapted quickly to different levels of fishing in our group as the day went on. We was able to put us on fish and made the whole day a blast! Highly highly recommend to anyone who wants to catch fish while in Yellowstone! Will definitely book another trip!
