We had a lovely time! Akira, our guide, was really humorous and fun. We really enjoyed our time dressing up as samurai, hearing about their history, seeing artifacts, and using the throwing stars! I would highly recommend a visit!

Our visit to the Samurai Museum in Tokyo was absolutely unforgettable! It’s the perfect experience for the whole family — engaging, hands-on, and packed with incredible history. The staff delivered a fantastic history session that brought the world of samurai and ninja to life, and everyone loved the chance to throw real ninja stars. The highlight was being able to dress up in full samurai armour for photos — such a unique and fun moment! This museum blends education and excitement perfectly. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Tokyo....

If you want to get to know or see something about samurai or about the history, I would recommend to go to Tokyo National Museum instead (where you can see original armors and catanas and actually even much more cool ones). Don't get me wrong - the staff was attentive and nice. But it was more commercial show with little bit of information (some even bit inaccurate) which ended in really overpriced souvenir store (at Nakamise Shopping Street by the Senso-ji temple you can get same stuff but 50% cheaper). So I would say - maybe nice for children, to start their interest about history but more like poor quality tourists attraction and hook for the tourists.

Akira was a very knowledgeable guide but he made it a fun experience with his humour, personality and interaction with the guests. We had some very excited children in the group and he included them when they asked questions but was able to move past and continue the tour when needed. We got to try on fake armours and pose for photos. The real armours, swords, and guns had informative cards nearby to help understand the pieces and give information about their creation and meanings.

One of the most fun and memorable tours I've ever had! Our guide was amazing and shared so much information in an exciting and fun way. When I got there, they dressed me in a samurai outfit and took many pictures in different poses. Then, our guide tells you about the history of samurai within the general history of Japan. The swords and armor sets on display are incredible. The last section was about ninjas, giving authentic history compared to what we see in Hollywood movies. The star throwing contest at the end was super fun and I took second place out of our large group :) But the best part of the tour was our guide who was so energetic and funny. For real, this was one of the most memorable tours experiences I've ever had and would recommend it to anyone, especially groups and families.
