Discover why early explorers, captivated by its unique beauty, first named this underwater cavern the Taj Mahal. Now known as Tajma Ha, a Mayan name meaning ‘water’, this cenote offers one of the most spectacular cavern dives in the Riviera Maya. Your journey begins just south of Puerto Aventuras, where a short drive into the jungle leads you to the entrance of this breathtaking underwater world, renowned for its impressive stalactite and stalagmite formations. This special two-tank dive is an adventure seeker's dream, guiding you through an ethereal halocline tunnel where freshwater and saltwater meet. While the dive is incredible year-round, visiting between March and September offers a truly magical experience. During these months, you can witness the famous Points of Lightroom, a spectacular natural light show as sunbeams penetrate the cavern's openings and dance through the crystal-clear water. Your dive will take you through three distinct areas, each with its own amazing light effects and geological wonders. At one point, you will surface inside the Sugar Bowl cenote, a hidden opening to the jungle where you might spot the sacred Mayan Motmot bird or hear its soft call. As you navigate the cavern, keep your eyes open for the many ancient fossils embedded in the walls and ceiling, a testament to the millions of years of history held within. To ensure a safe and personal experience, our professionally trained instructors guide small groups of no more than four divers at a time. This tour is designed for certified divers with an Open Water certification or higher, and participants must be at least 10 years old. We provide everything you need for a seamless day, including all scuba equipment, tanks, lamps, breakfast, lunch, and bottled water. Your trip also includes transportation from our facility to the cenote, with drop-off service to your hotel within the Cancun hotel zone. Our shuttle service is scheduled for your convenience. Pickups in Playa del Carmen are at 7:00 AM from your accommodation. For those coming from Cozumel, we will meet you at the Playa del Carmen ferry pier at 7:30 AM.
