The tour begins at Cinelandia Square, one of Rio’s most important historical areas, where we will explore the square's rich history and the impressive buildings surrounding it. These include the majestic Municipal Theater, a landmark of Rio's cultural life, the National Library, which houses Brazil's vast literary collection, the National Museum of Fine Arts, and the Pedro Ernesto Palace, also known as the City Hall, an architectural gem of the city.
From Cinelandia, we’ll walk towards Lapa, passing the beautiful Riachuelo Theater, known for its striking architecture. We’ll make a stop in front of Cecilia Meireles’ room, where we’ll delve into the life and work of this renowned Brazilian poet, whose legacy is celebrated in the country’s literary history.
Next, we will visit the colorful Escadaria Selaron, the famous mosaic staircase created by Chilean artist Jorge Selaron, which connects the neighborhoods of Santa Teresa and Lapa. After taking in the vibrant artwork, we’ll stop at the iconic Arcos da Lapa, the Carioca Aqueduct, for photos and a chance to admire this architectural masterpiece.

This walking tour was 3 hours and centrally located. Our guide was knowledgeable, but the itinerary felt a little odd. Admittedly, I booked history and hidden places tour; however, an outdoor stage/concert venue with umbrellas doesn’t feel like a worthy stop. Additionally, the Irish music hall of fame felt like a stretch. It made the tour seem like it was trying to convince us that Dublin was cool. I’m not sure I’d recommend this to the average Ireland tourist.

There was a group of 8 of us that took this tour on Sept. 16 in Dublin. Our tour guide, Harry was outstanding!!! His knowledge and enthusiasm was contagious. We learned so much! Harry made the experience an exceptional memory for all of us! Thank you Harry and much success to you!

Highly recommend this walking tour of Dublin. Our guide, Jonathan H, was knowledgeable, engaging, and adept at knowing his audience. He touched on so many iconic landmarks, and for us a highlight was the Handel statue, as well as other sites related to his time in Dublin. We went to places we would not otherwise have found. The time (nearly three hours) flew by. The walking was gentle and not at all tiring. Quality tour all around. 🍀⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️

John, our guide, was an excellent raconteur with a knowledge of details that made the story of Joyce and his contemporaries very alive. Long after the walk we keep thinking about the characters, their lives and destinies, in the same Dublin that we explore today.

Kate was our guide throughout Dublin for the day!! She is hilarious, which I love. Smart and kind as well. So knowledgeable about the area and history. She was awesome with the 3 teenage girls and our 10 year old son. Group of 8. Request Kate as your guide when you’re in Dublin.
