I have now been on 6 walks with London Walks a all within a few months. The walks have all been great and the guides have been excellent. One or two have been exceptional. So why have I taken away 2 stars. Well it turns out that London Walks have loyalty scheme where you buy a card for a fiver and then get a fiver off each walk for a 6 month period. Excellent deal right? Wrong the guides are meant to tell people about this deal. I only found out about it on my second last walk. No other guide bothered to mention it. As you can imagine I’m rather annoyed. I’ve been loyal to London Walks, not even bothering to shop around. So, if you are planning on doing 3 or more walks with London Walks ask for a loyalty card

I visited the Tower of London as part of their VIP Early Access tour which included all the things so I didn't have to buy separate tickets. You definitely should do a guided tour versus the audio one you can get as it's always nicer to talk to a person and not just listen to a recording without the ability to ask questions. Our tour guide Elizabeth was awesome and gave us all sorts of interesting facts and tidbits about every part of the Tower and throughout the tour. One of the best parts of the tour was the earpieces! Every person got a bluetooth earpiece and Elizabeth used her lapel microphone to narrate our walks as well as to talk to us better while there were so many other people around. This allowed her to continue to narrate as we walked along narrow paths and up/down staircases. It also helped a lot when in smaller rooms with other people as she didn't have to yell to be heard and this also didn't disturb other guests. Regardless of which tour you take, the Tower of London is definitely worth visiting! The 'Tower of London' is kind of a misnomer as it's actually more like a castle complex with 21(?) towers altogether. The Yeomen Warders were all very professional and nice to talk to, answering all manner of questions and open to picture taking.

I went for the Death, Debauchery, and Doctors walk with Luisa and absolutely loved it. I do walking tours all over the world and have gone on many London Walks - they are consistently amazing. Luisa has the perfect credentials to be a guide for this. She is a doctor and a medical journal editor and knows death and doctors intimately. As for the debauchery, as Luisa would say, that’s her business. We were a large group and Luisa managed us like a pro. We didn’t lose anyone and she made sure we could always hear her. Also, her follow up email with links and suggestion was greatly appreciated. Try this walk, you’ll enjoy it guaranteed.
