Come and use our industrial sewing machines in the Sewing Café in West, where you will have access to all tools, tables, and workspaces to work on your projects independently. This session allows you to practice stitching leather, denim, and multiple layers of fabric with ease. While guidance in sewing techniques is not included, help with threading the machines is available if needed. The café provides a professional setup with irons, large tracing tables, pattern paper, overlock thread, and all essential tools for your sewing work. Refreshments such as water and cookies are available during your session, creating a comfortable and productive environment.
This session is designed for independent sewing and is not recommended for beginners. You are free to bring your own materials or purchase fabrics, threads, and supplies from our store if needed. Machines available include Pfaff sewing machines, Brother sergers, Janome cover stitch, and a Juki industrial serger. If you cannot attend your booking, please notify us at least one day in advance to avoid losing your session. Open several days a week, this option allows flexible scheduling for those wanting focused, self-guided sewing time.

I have spent the last year thinking about upgrading my old sewing machine. I bought it years ago from this shop. I now wanted a machine that would sew stretchy material and other extras. I popped in today as I’m looking to learn how to sew and the owner was great. He was really helpful with picking a machine and didn’t try to oversell me. He showed me how to set it up and use it which I wasn’t expecting at all and he said I could video it in case I forgot. He gave me some free needles to go with it, said I could call if I needed help and recommended a good place for lessons. I really appreciated how friendly and helpful he was, thank you!

Well what can I say....? After reading some of the reviews on here, I was not keen to go to the shop. My Husband & I found ourselves in the area & decided to pop in. Was ready for a arrogant 'Irishman' telling me off & ready to give John some 'LIP' back. (I'm one of 'Those Women' that will give as good as I get.) But to my GREAT surprise, John Whelan was Knowledgeable, Informative & very easy to talk to. John went beyond just helping me on my decision of what sewing machine to buy, after more years than I care to remember sewing with Singer Machines. Bout week later, back at the shop & took a Brother Sewing Machine Home. But a Woman's prerogative to be able to change her mind is absolutely fantastic. That is exactly what I did, swopped the Brother for Janome a week after . (Nothing wrong with the Brother Sewing Machine, very nice machine, just preferred the Janome). Not a problem for John. As long as machine not abused, broken & all extras included in the box with machine returned in good order.
