If you are fit, you can and should enjoy this experience. You will be awwwwed after a guided horse ride to the mountain you will decent and then climb back up to ride horses back to base.

This Is an Adventure, Riding The Horses up to the extraction point was fun. But having to climb down the rocks to get there is a work out , specially climb all 387 steps back up, and make Sure its not going to Rain 🙏💯. ....

A wonderful adventure. Starts off with the horse ride which leaves you with an appreciation for horses. The rocky river beds makes for a “ankle breaking” moment for humans but the horses navigated the course with true expertise. The guides lead the horse according to your horse riding expertise. The less you know, the more involved they are. When you arrive and park at the destination don’t let the sales pitch ruin anything. I am from Dominican Republic and frankly just negotiated $30 for the horse ride which was about 45 minutes to an hour. I did not select the food because there’re so many scenic places to eat in town. The Guides live off tips and I rewarded them with my savings and more because they made the trip a 5 stars event. The falls are beautiful and cold but rewarding after the hike of 385 stone carved steps, a smaller just as beautiful falls followed by a few curves or the river. A must do in this part of Dominican Republic.

Hidden gem located in Samana province, DR. Gorgeous waterfall - serene and very picturesque. Bit hard to reach and the path is rocky, and steep at some places - you can hire a horse (30 min ride) that comes with a person who will guide the horse and will stay with you during the trip - about 3 hours in total or you can hike if you are in a good shape. The horse ride seems difficult at some points, but you are good if you can hold the saddle and trust the horse. It's definitely worth it and must see if you like nature and adventure. You can also swim in its cool refreshing water. The guide also took our group pictures. Please take water and some tipping cash with you. Horse rides and the tip support the local economy, too. Enjoyed the falls ... one of the best i have seen so far ..

Gorgeous waterfall! The water was so refreshing to swim in after we arrived. Our kids ages 12-17 loved the adventure and the falls. We brought our own guide who grew up in the area. We paid $2 for parking and choose to walk to the falls. From the parking area it was approx. 3 miles round trip. The path was muddy but it was slit of embracing the experience, getting dirty and just enjoying the moment. The dirt and mud washes off and you’re left with amazing experiences. We choose not to ride the horses B/c we enjoy hiking. The horses looked like fun but just not our style. They have a little village set up as you descend the final 300 steps to the falls. They have vendors, a “fake” ticket booth with a “fake” security guard trying to enforce you buying tickets. I had read about this and also our local guide didn’t let them scam us. We were just polite and we walked in. This hike and experience is a must if you’re in the area. Enjoy!!
