The Back Run River Front Campsite offers a primitive paddle in camping experience for up to six campers. Located near Gilmore Mills in Natural Bridge Station Virginia, the site is accessible only by river for customers taking an overnight river trip. It is situated 15.5 miles downstream of Buchanan and five miles below Alpine boat landing on river left. The property lies six miles above the Glasgow boat landing and can be reached from State Route 708 via a private road called James River Trail. Each campsite includes a picnic table, fire ring, and level gravel area for tents. The campground also provides a group river access area and a porta potty. There are no utilities or water, so guests must bring their own water and pack out all trash. The rate is fourteen dollars per person per night plus tax with a minimum thirty six dollar camping fee, and children under five are not counted for billing purposes.

The campsite offers a quiet and scenic riverside setting perfect for those seeking a natural and secluded camping experience. Campers can relax by the river, explore the surrounding area, or enjoy a campfire at their own pace. As the site is paddle in only, it encourages a more adventurous and immersive outdoor experience. Reservations must be made in advance, ensuring each group has a dedicated space along the river. This location is ideal for small groups or families looking for a simple and peaceful getaway close to nature.

One of the most relaxing weekends I’ve had in a very long time. I went down Saturday morning with my partner and was greeted by Tammy & Keith. Keith helped us find a flat spot for our tent. The second night was quite windy and Keith and Tammy helped us make a wind breaker. Couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. Lovely place & lovely people. Highly recommend to anyone who’s looking to get away for a weekend. Will definitely be returning!!

We had a terrific time at Lough Ramor. Beautiful scenery and loads of fun on the lake in the canoes and on our paddle boards. Lots of little islands in the lake to explore. We had beautifully clear night skies to gaze at the stars from the hot tub. The sunsets over the lake were incredible. The facilities are basic (there's a mains water supply on-site and portaloos) but that's part of the appeal, frankly. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It's a great place to take the kids for a few days of back to nature adventure! We'll be back

Stayed midweek for 3 nights, beautiful location on the lake and fabulous people. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Ideal swimming spot for adults & children as well as kayaking & fishing. Close to Virginia and local amenities. Looking forward to staying again and seeing the developments on site moving forward 😊

We spent two nights here at lough ramor on the bank holiday weekend. Was very worried about going as I read a few bad reviews about people partying ect, we only planned to stay the one night just to chance it, but end up staying the second night because we had an absolute ball! Noise was all stopped by 11 at night and so peaceful, pat came around and checked in with everyone and was very clear about the rules that were set! Our first camping trip we will not forget and we can’t wait to head back out! The kids loved it as we all made our own entertainment and now we have memory’s to last forever
