The River Front campground in Buchanan Virginia offers a scenic and convenient riverside camping experience for up to ten campers per site. Nestled along the James River, this campground provides both drive in and paddle in access making it ideal for paddlers looking to start or end their river adventures. Each of the seven riverfront campsites features a picnic table fire ring and a level gravel area suitable for tents. The property is hammock friendly and perfect for those who want to relax by the river and enjoy the natural surroundings. Located just downstream from the Arcadia Virginia DGIF Public boat landing the site is easily accessible from I81 exit 168 and situated about six miles downstream from the Buchanan canoe livery and thirteen miles upstream from the Glasgow boat landing.
Campers should note that the campground is unmanned and there are no water or utilities provided. Guests are required to bring their own water and manage their own trash using the onsite dumpster. Port a potties are available for convenience. The site is tent camping only and does not allow RVs or trailers. Its combination of accessibility riverfront views and peaceful natural setting makes it a perfect base for paddling exploring the river or simply enjoying a quiet overnight escape.
