The River Front campground at Buchanan Virginia offers a scenic and peaceful setting along the James River. This campsite is ideal for those looking to enjoy a night or more in nature with up to eight campers per site. The campground features drive in and paddle in access, making it convenient for both land and water arrivals. Each campsite includes a picnic table, fire ring, and level gravel tent area. There is also a group river access area, port a potties, and a dumpster for trash. Guests are responsible for bringing their own water as no utilities are provided. The location is just downstream from the Arcadia Virginia DGIF Public boat landing, making it a perfect spot for paddlers exploring the river. Tent camping is allowed, but no RVs or trailers can be accommodated. The surrounding area provides opportunities for fishing, swimming, and relaxing by the river while enjoying the natural beauty of the region.
Guests should plan to bring all personal items including sleeping bags, food, and camping essentials. The campground is family friendly and hammock friendly, offering a unique way to enjoy the outdoors. The drive to the site is accessible via I81 exit 168, about two miles down on Arcadia Road.
