We didn’t buy the dining package for the Steamboat Natchez tour, we just took the two-hour cruise. There’s narration throughout the ride, and I actually found it pretty interesting. We passed by a sugar refinery, and for the first time I learned that it can produce seven million pounds of sugar per day. That was impressive. There are lots of little facts like this along the way. We went on the 2 p.m. cruise, and the lighting was perfect. By the time we got off the boat, the sun was already setting. If you take the evening cruise, you probably won’t be able to see much along the river, though you might get a view of New Orleans at night, I’m not sure how worthwhile that is. Also, if you get cold easily, I strongly recommend booking the dining option, because only dining-package guests can sit indoors. If you plan to sit outside, make sure to dress warmly.

This was a really nice boat ride, I'm did the daytime tour, which I do think would probably be a bit more noisy than that of the night due to a bunch of kids and families running around. Nonetheless, the scenery was beautiful and the narration was great as well. The food was quite yummy and the live band was also exceptional entertainment. I would recommend for a quick activity.

I purchased my tickets online a few days at a time. I chose the riverboat tour only and declined the brunch option. We boarded the vessel with no issues and went to the top deck. There was plenty of seating everywhere and all of the bars were open, ready to serve. As you enter the vessel, a jazz band is playing on the second deck the boat departed probably at 11:30 and went south down the Mississippi river pass Algiers point the narrator tells you the history, geographical points of interest, and landmarks on shore. I felt that the narrator had a very monotone voice. It was not the best choice for a Cruz director as a native of South Louisiana. I do not believe the Cruz director was a local. His pronunciation of all of the cities sounded non-genuine as a local. I felt that he was just reading from a script. When the boat makes a U-turn, the jazz band starts playing again. We went down to a lower level and enjoyed the jazz band and the bar had a selection of Christmas cocktails. I ordered the pimps cup Christmas version and it was phenomenal. The bartenders were delightful and knowledgeable. The boat docked properly at 1:30 and the deep boarding process was very smooth.

Wonderful jazz cruise on an authentic New Orleans steamer (though I believe the steam mechanism is superseded by electrical power). The paddle is very impressive, and mesmerising to lose yourself into for periods of time. The cruise is a perfect length of time, and leaves you well situated to make your way to Bourbon, Frenchmen or the hotel district as you depart. The boat took approximately 1 hour before departing, and we were inundated with interesting facts about the boat as we departed, before the band returned for a second ~1 hour long set. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the crew do not seem to prevent you from moving chairs around and sitting in paces that perhaps aren’t intended. The band were good, and broadcast throughout the ship, though there were some mixing issues at the start and only the sousaphone could be heard. Merely a minor teething issue. The sousaphone player gave us some notes as we were departing the boat which was a nice extra surprise. Overall a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend!

Late birthday gift. Took this tour on a Monday. It was still crowded but I bought our tickets online. The band is great. They serve food and drinks which were delicious. Got the gumbo I mostly loved the history lesson that's provided during the tour. You learn more about the Mississippi River and the structures surrounding the city Tour is about 2 hours long. It's definitely worth the 35.00 but don't forget to add the extra 35.00 for parking😫 Saw someone get a boot
