We launch our kayaks from Ganges Harbour, beginning the journey toward Third Sister Island where participants can enjoy a brief rest and take in the surrounding scenery. From there, the tour continues out to Prevost Island, culminating with a picnic in the beautiful James Bay National Park. Our certified and knowledgeable guides bring a wealth of experience and local knowledge, tailoring each tour to the group’s interests and objectives to create a unique and memorable adventure. The waters around Salt Spring Island are rich with wildlife, so keep your eyes open for Bald Eagles and their nests, river otters, harbor seals, sea lions, great blue herons, porpoises, and many fascinating marine species below the surface. Throughout the tour, guests are encouraged to engage with the natural environment, observe wildlife responsibly, and learn about the local ecology, history, and conservation efforts from their guides. The combination of stunning coastal landscapes, abundant wildlife, and personalized guidance ensures that each Marine Park Tour is not only an active and exciting kayaking experience but also an educational and deeply immersive journey into the natural beauty of the Southern Gulf Islands.

I did a so-called beginner kayak course wit these guys in June 2024. On that course, whilst doing an emergency manoeuvre as per instructions, I broke my right femur. I was upside down & 6 ft under water when this happened. I was rushed to the hospital after the club phoned for an ambulance. But that was only after I screamed for them to do so. They initially told me it was probably just a 'leg spasm'. I was operated in hospital the next day. In addition to the excruciating agony I was in that day and for some time afterwards I incurred several medical expenses and needed time off work not to mention how it altered my life at that time and for some time afterwards. I heard nothing from the club, in fact they, despite me being a member, they completely washed their hands of me. I have been in touch with them and Canoe Ireland on a few occasions and they have both promised to look into it. If they actually did even that much I don't really know. They certainly did not get back to me with any meaningful response or solution. It's up to you how you would feel joining a club like this or taking a course with a club like that.

Great club. Reasonably priced membership. Professionally run, fun and enjoyable beginners and advanced kayaking courses.

Set on along a beautiful 3km section of the River Liffey overlooking Palmerstown Weir and bounded upstream by the Wrens Nest weir. The club hosts many paddle sport disciplines - open Canadian canoes, canoe and kayak slalom, polo, marathon/sprint, wild water racing, paddle boarding and is an ideal location for learning and improving all-year round.
