It was a life changing experience, in that you get a very good education about what wolfdogs are, and therefore can help spread the message about these beautiful animals so that they can be saved. We saw many beautiful animals. If I weren’t so uncomfortable in cold weather, I’d love to come back in the winter, when these animals are in their element with their full, thick coat. The interactive program is great. You can get up close and personal with some of the animals. The gift store also has great items for souvenir and gifts. All proceeds go to helping the animals in the sanctuary. Definitely worth a trip. Note: only suitable for people who are not fearful of large dogs!!!
Amazing experience. If you’re in the Calgary area make some time to come here. Very informative and interesting tour. Walking around the grounds on the self guided tour was peaceful and nice to see all the wolfdogs in their habitats. The interactive tour is well worth it. Being up close and personal with the wolfdogs was a once in a life time experience. The staff was so friendly and informative and do great work for such an important cause.
Absolutely beautiful wolfdogs, and the space is huge and great for walking around and seeing all the wolfdog enclosures. Highly recommend the tour which is more of a viewing, but you get up close with the wolfdogs and get to see them eat treats and listen to the guide. There's also signs every that tells you everything about the sanctuary and introduces you to each wolfdog by name and tells you about their personality. The wolfdogs are very beautiful and interestingly the reported shy wolfdogs love to hang by the walking paths and let you take tons of pictures. Once completed there will be a day area for picnics and relaxing also. There's also a farm are where the goats and other farm animals live where you can pet if they come over I would like to add that when they're closing, the parking lot also closes because they have to lock the gate, so if you want to take any pictures with the beautiful painting shipping container, definitely do so before closing! Please visit and support the wolfdog sanctuary as they depend on visitors to help support these rescued wolfdogs :)
