I would like to take this opportunity to thank the good people from the Turkish gendarmerie who, at the beginning of September, found our backpack that was stolen by a wild pig and dragged into the forest. They intervened professionally and in a short period of time returned the backpack containing a wallet with money and cards, a mobile phone and a few small items. Fortunately, nothing was missing except the burek with which the wild boar treated her and the piglets :) I will come again to this park and enjoy nature with my family.

Nestled along Turkiye’s stunning Aegean coast, this national park offers a beautiful blend of diverse landscapes, from pristine beaches to lush forests and rolling mountains. The park is a haven for nature lovers and those looking to escape the crowds. The hiking trails are well-maintained and provide breathtaking panoramic views over the sea. Along the way, you can spot a variety of wildlife, including wild boars, rare birds, and vibrant wildflowers. The park’s famous beaches are perfect for swimming and picnicking, with its crystal-clear turquoise waters and natural beauty. One of the highlights was the Cave of Zeus, an enchanting cave with a refreshing pool, surrounded by greenery and steeped in local legends. Swimming in its cool, blue waters was both relaxing and magical. The park also has well-marked picnic areas, so it’s ideal for families, solo travelers, and anyone seeking peace and connection with nature. The facilities are good, and everything is kept clean and well-preserved. I highly recommend spending a full day here to explore its trails, beaches, and hidden gems. Dilek Peninsula National Park is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience Turkiye’s natural beauty away from the usual tourist spots.

Buyuk Menderes National Park is a beautiful and large reserve on the Dilek Peninsula south of Kusadasi. The roads throughout the park are in excellent condition with great views of the Aegean Sea and surrounding mountains; the park offer side trip exits to some great shoreline for bathing - like Millê Beach. The park offers free entry and if you are lucky enough you can secure a little covered wood structure to picnic beneath while at the beach. But, watch out for the wild boars- kind like Yogi Bear and Boo-Boo Bear - they want your eats… so keep them secured. The Aegean Sea is sparkling clean here and the beaches are not sand but small tumbled rocks of marble, limestone and….like gems.

Where the wild things are 🛵💨🔥🤘 Spending the day riding with my boys Matt and Kenny was awesome! We were going up through this national park's trails until we found out it was a military zone... We spent the day exploring this entire peninsula and eventually made our escape undetected from the military police on the other side of this beautiful national nature reserve 🤣😂🙈 While we were tearing up these super sweet trails we met a group of local Turkish guys breaking the curfew laws with their noble steeds. It was super good to catch up with these guys and watch them tear up the mountainside as they took off 🎉🎉🎉 Fantastic weather and great trails made this day really special sharing it with the buddies while we were on the bikes 💥🇹🇷💥

I think this is a "must see" national park in Turkey. Forest is beautiful. Roads are good. There are lots for hiking routes, and biking is fun too. You can see some pigs wondering around but they are harmless, just looking for food.
