What I Liked the Most: Definitely our instructor. He had the perfect mix of adventure, calmness, and fun. He matched our energy, understood our excitement, and made the whole dive feel safe but still super thrilling. His vibe was honestly one of the coolest parts of the whole experience. What Could Be Improved: Honestly, nothing. There’s nothing I would change. Everything went beyond our expectations better than we imagined in every way.

Super cool, especially the time feeding the fish under water was amazing. The view is so lala not cristal clear but I was aware of that and didn't expected too much when starting from the shore.

WARNING: Avoid Mermaid Diving Center and Yasser Alassal I deeply regret my experience with Yasser Alassal and Mermaid Diving Center. My PADI Open Water Diver course exposed an UNQUALIFIED instructor and unethical practices that left me questioning the safety and integrity of this diving center. Substandard Training The course failed to meet even the most basic PADI standards: • Insufficient dives: I was given only two pool dives and two open water dives instead of the required four of each. • Lack of teaching: Critical skills, including safety stops, neutral buoyancy, emergency ascents, equipment assembly, and dive planning, were ignored. • Limited depth training: The maximum depth reached was 6 meters—far below the 18 meters I was supposed to be trained for. When I reported these deficiencies, Yasser claimed that I had adequate training simply because I had access to PADI’s e-learning materials. If this were true, there would be no need for a qualified instructor. Dangerous Behaviour Safari encouraged another beginner to "dive really deep and get high off gas narcosis". This type of behaviour endangers lives. When I emailed this to Yasser, he dismissed this as a ‘light-hearted’ comment (screenshot attached). Uncertified Instructor The instructor, Safari, refused to provide his PADI number, which is used to verify a diver’s PADI credentials, raising serious doubts about his qualifications. Despite repeated requests, no proof of certification was provided. Yasser attempted to provide me his own PADI number to cover up that Safari was not certified (screenshot attached). After enquiring for Safari’s PADI number, Yasser admitted that he fired Safari (to protect Yasser’s reputation, in my opinion) in the voicenote in the screenshot. This fuelled further suspicions of deceit. Fraudulent Financial Practices Safari charged me 525 AED for an additional dive, insisting on cash payment. When the dive was cancelled due to unsafe conditions, I was initially refunded only 300 AED, with the excuse that the money was "used to pay off a debt." This is unacceptable. Yasser gave a partial refund to another student to pass onto me after hearing about this from that student. A responsible business owner would’ve contacted me to understand what happened and refunded me the entire amount directly. False Claims of Supervision Yasser falsely claimed that my training was conducted under his direct supervision, rendering my certification valid despite it being conducted by an unqualified instructor. However, I never met Yasser—a fact corroborated by other students and hotel cameras. This deliberate misrepresentation underscores the lack of integrity at this center. Summary If you value your safety, time, and money, DO NOT choose Mermaid Diving Center. Yasser's negligent, unethical, and fraudulent actions left me with: 1. An invalid certification. 2. Financial loss (they haven’t refunded me because I have access to the e-learning materials which is apparently sufficient training). 3. The need to retake training at a reputable center. In my opinion, Yasser is a deceitful man prioritising profit and reputation over safety and training quality. Be wary of any reply defending himself. For evidence or further details, feel free to contact me. Other students expressed fear of reporting their experiences, understandly worried about losing their licenses. This matter has been reported to the Abu Dhabi police and PADI. PADI rightfully rescinded my license upon investigation. If you value your safety, time, and money, DO NOT choose Mermaid Diving Center.

Diving with Marmaid Diving Center was an incredible experience! The instructors were knowledgeable, patient, and made the entire diving process seamless. Exploring the underwater world was a surreal adventure, and the memories created during the diveing are truly unforgettable. I highly recommend this place for anyone seeking a fantastic and safe diving experience.

First of all a big thank you to Mermaid Diving Center who helped me take my first steps in diving, it was amazing. It is very hard to imagine a friendlier atmosphere. Mr. Yasser is a very experienced professional instructor, so the training went without any problems. I truly miss this place and the guys at this dive center. And I would like to go back there again and continue my training because I fully trust their professionalism.

The best diving experience ever! It was our first time diving, we were recommended this place by our friend Ahmed Mansi and it was truly the best experience ever! Thank you to our diving instructor who was friends with Ahmed for making the dive so easy and one of the best experiences ever! We highly recommend them!
