The SurfGroms program offers a lively and engaging introduction to surfing through fun, group-based activities that build confidence and encourage participation. Each session is thoughtfully crafted to create a warm and supportive environment where children can explore new skills, enjoy time in the water, and learn through play. Across the four-week journey, participants gain essential ocean skills through progressive lesson levels designed for young surfers. Instruction includes the basics of ocean awareness, beach safety, surf survival strategies, simple rescue techniques, and first aid fundamentals. Alongside these safety skills, children learn how to read surf conditions and understand the changing environment, giving them the knowledge and assurance needed for a positive and empowering experience by the sea.

I'd had some years surfing under my belt but took a couple of years break. So I decided to take a lesson with Troggs Surf School to get me back into the swing of it again. I chose to use the school's wetsuit and board rather than my own. I found them so be in really good quality rather than the usual tatty ones from other schools. The guidance from Ethan was great as well. We started out with some white water, but as he could see that we were well able for more, took us into some unbroken waves. Being as I hadn't built up the paddle power yet, he pushed me into some really great waves including a really nice set wave of which I got some great compliments for. I took all the lessons I learned on that one session, with me to have great surfs the following days. Thanks Troggs for the re-introduction :)

Wonderful experience paddle boarding on the north coast. We had such a great time, all the gear was provided and our instructors took excellent care of us. Looking forward to coming back

Had the best morning at Troggs Surf Shop in Portrush doing a 1-to-1 session with Ethan. I got so much out of it, loads of helpful tips to improve my surf technique, plus the chance to try different size boards. Ethan was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience really fun. We recently had an amazing experience at Troggs Surf School! From the moment we arrived, the instructor Ethan made us feel welcome and excited to get out on the water. The lesson was well-structured and catered to all skill levels. As a beginner, I appreciated the clear instructions and the emphasis on safety and during the surf always nearby, offering tips and encouragement. His passion for surfing was infectious, and it made the learning process so much fun. The equipment provided was top-notch, and he used a DSLR with waterproof housing for the photos. The location at East Strand was perfect for both beginners. and more experienced surfers. The waves were just right, and the beach was beautiful, even on a cloudy day. Overall, I highly recommend Troggs Surf School to anyone looking to learn or improve their surfing skills. It's a fantastic place with great people, and we can’t wait to get back out there.

The boys went surfing yesterday! All four had a private 2 hour lesson with Ethan from Troggs Surf School. Two had one previous lesson here a few years ago. All four (3 kids aged 11, 9 & 9 and Dad) were given an informative introduction by Ethan and took to the water! To say they had a blast is an understatement....because of his direction and instruction they managed to get up on the board almost immediately!!! We would highly recommend it as an awesome way to spend a few hours and are definitely looking forward to booking with Albert & Ethan at Troggs again soon! 🌊
