Lake Leatherwood Group Campsite: Spacious Camping for Groups
Lake Leatherwood’s group campsite is ideal for large gatherings, family outings, and group adventures, accommodating up to 10 tents. The site features a 30-amp electrical outlet, five picnic tables, and a fire ring with a grill, providing plenty of space for outdoor cooking, shared meals, and evenings around the campfire.
Guests have access to nearby restroom facilities and a bathhouse for added convenience. While there are no water or sewer hookups directly at the campsite, water spigots are available near the bathhouse and parking area. The campsite is pet-friendly, welcoming domestic animals that are kept on a leash.
Visitors planning stays longer than seven nights are encouraged to call ahead to arrange their reservation. Standard check-in begins at 3:00 PM, and check-out is at 2:00 PM, allowing plenty of time for arrival and departure.
Military members are eligible for a discount when booking with the appropriate code and presenting valid proof of service at check-in. Went there to see the ancient stone they have. Was immediately told to leave by very rude staff.
It’s a good center and the people working there is very kind and nice and VERY good at helping if we needed something but the staff that had to pack our things/lay out our tents and all the other things we needed, nothing was packed for us when we came and the staff had to find all the things we had ordered/borrowed from them and we also had to go and get pegs meny times bc there was not enough at first but the staff was very good and pretty fast finding our things, the toilets and showers were fine its not a luxury but it works fine. The center also have a lot of fun activities and beautiful countryside and a good look over Dublin after sunset and not a long walk to get to a bus stop. Internet? Yeah there is a pole in front of the reception/info to the left where there is WiFi all hours of the day
Takes me back to my childhood 35 years ago going here. Now taking my own kids. Great volunteers and a lovely place for kids to have fun activities in nature.
