The wife and I went this evening for the Teide sunset excursion. Unforgettable experience, having not driven a quad bike much before, everything was explained. Hotel pickup and dropoff back to our hotel by a gentleman, tour staff were very informative and the photographer was very artistic and engaging. Really great time had and would recommend to anyone. We took a 3-hour tour to see Mount Teide. We really enjoyed it — it was beautiful and truly an interesting experience. However, some moments left an unpleasant aftertaste, so I’d like to share this as a warning for the future. The insurance they insist on selling — don’t buy it. You’re driving on a straight and smooth road, and the only thing that can actually happen is that their quad bike breaks down, because it’s very old and literally falling apart while you ride it. They also promised us pizza and beer. I’m attaching a photo of what we actually got at the end of the tour in their office: one can of beer for 20 people. Seriously? And where was the promised pizza? No idea. The price of the tour was €60 per person. Honestly, it’s better to just rent a car and drive to the volcano yourself to watch the sunset. There were two of us — for that money, we could’ve bought pizza and beer and had a much better time. And to top it all off — the photos. To get them, you had to pay €10 per person. So, here’s what we ended up with: a beautiful volcano, a beautiful sunset, old quad bikes, dirty clothes, no promised pizza or beer, and paid photos. Total for two people — €120. We definitely feel a bit scammed.
Great experience. Well worth the money although we arrived at the spot a little too early to see the sun setting. Apart from that with was ace and I’ll defo do it again wen I return to Alcudia.
