The Daintree Ferry is a great mode of transport and a truly unique experience. It can be a bit pricey for tourists, but as a local, I can use my locals card for $25 or the Douglas Card between November and February. Usually, when I arrive, the ferry is on its way back, so I only have to wait about 5 minutes. I’m not sure what it’s like during peak hours, as I generally try to avoid those weekends and times. The staff are always super friendly and welcoming, happy to assist and check in on how your day is going.

No fuss trip across the river. $49 return in a sedan. Quick and pain free. Friendly staff.

Too expensive at $50 return for a couple of minutes ride. Could not leave car to take pictures. A perfect example of price gouging. For what Cape Tribulation has to offer, don't bother. There are plenty of other prestine beaches and rainforest in Australia to see that are free.

Krish says it best. $50 return for a few minutes. They don't let you out of your car to take photos. They build a bridge, govt pays. They don't build a bridge, user pays. The two favourite words of a government right there...."user pays".
