This place is absolutely beautiful. The water is crystal clear, easy to swim, snorkel, and relax with no waves! Easy walk to mushroom rock for a great photo opportunity! It’s regulated pretty heavily with limitations on how long you can stay, which is the only bummer. Highly recommend!
One of the most beautiful beaches I’ve seen. The water is so shallow you can see the bottom. There’s a short hike to the top of the hill where you can take the best photos. Make sure to wear the right footwear since the trail is a bit rocky. There’s lots of marine life I saw plenty of fish and an eel! Get there early to beat the crowds. Parking fills up fast get there before 9 AM.
We’ve traveled a lot, seen beaches all over the world but Playa Balandra is different. The first thing that hits you is the water impossibly clear, shifting between turquoise, teal, and soft jade as the light moves. It’s shallow for what feels like forever, so you can wade out and still see the ripples dancing around your feet. The whole place feels untouched, almost sacred. The hills cradle the bay in this perfect natural curve, and the calmness is something you feel as much as you see.
