Trip From Marathi to Balos Lagoon & Seitan

After boarding, our first stop on this full-day trip is Seitan Limania Beach, where we enjoy the crystal-clear, turquoise waters from the comfort of our boat, away from the crowds. Next, we head to Balos Beach, a lagoon of extraordinary natural beauty at the far tip of the Gramvousa Peninsula, Crete’s westernmost point. The area is protected under the Natura 2000 program, and preserving its pristine environment is a top priority. Here, we take a swim in the shallow, turquoise waters and explore the surroundings of Gramvousa Island, leaving only our footprints on the pink-white sand.

From Balos, we continue to Menies, a hidden cove on the northeastern shore of the Rodopou Peninsula, parallel to Gramvousa. Menies sits on the site of ancient Diktynna, once home to the temple of the goddess Vritomartis, believed to be a form of Artemis. After a refreshing swim on the pebbly beach, we make our way back along the scenic coastline, enjoying the sights and serenity of Crete’s remote bays.
