The Sapphire Coast is known for exceptional inshore and offshore fishing, offering some of the best marine experiences in New South Wales. These pristine waters produce Marlin, Yellowfin Tuna, Bluefin Tuna, Kingfish and Snapper, while the local reefs are rich with Snapper, Morwong, Flathead, Trevally, Nannygai and various Wrasses and Gropers. Merimbula Marina provides fishing charters suitable for beginners and experienced anglers, using a spacious and stable vessel equipped with quality rods and reels. No fishing licence is required, and all fish are cleaned and bagged for guests to take home. The popular three hour reef fishing charter offers the perfect amount of time to enjoy productive fishing and bring home a fresh catch.
Guests are taken to the best reef locations based on weather conditions, ensuring a rewarding and enjoyable experience. As this charter travels into open ocean, sea sickness prevention is recommended, along with sensible preparation such as warm clothing, covered shoes and a wet weather jacket. Cameras, sunglasses and personal snacks are also advised. The charter departs from Merimbula Marina, and guests should arrive fifteen minutes early. Please note that Roger the whale spotting dog may be onboard during most tours.
