This 3-mile adventure combines two of the area’s best rappels with a bit of scrambling, creating a step up from a typical hike while remaining accessible to most participants with the guidance of our skilled instructors. The journey begins with a short hike across petrified sand dunes, leading to the first of two rappels—a stunning 90-foot (27-meter) drop into a classic, water-carved sandstone chamber that captures the essence of the Colorado Plateau. After navigating a small slot and a brief section of scrambling, participants reach the second free-hanging rappel, a 120-foot (36-meter) descent that provides an up-close view of the impressive 243-foot-long Morning Glory Arch, located just steps from the rappel station.
The adventure concludes with a downhill hike to the Colorado River along a cool, spring-fed stream. During this portion of the trip, canyoneering guides share insights about the surrounding wildlife, plant life, geology, and local history, enriching the experience and giving participants a deeper appreciation for the natural and cultural wonders of the region. The combination of technical challenges, scenic beauty, and educational commentary makes this trip both thrilling and memorable.
