Our flight with American Airlines took approximately four hours and I must say it was perfect. After that it was downhill. We got our luggage within twenty minutes. We met the Amstar representative and were told to wait outside for the bus. There were four seniors in our group of eight. We waited in the heat for TWO hours for the transportation to pick us up. When we would inquire about the wait time the Amstar representatives would only tell us that we would be leaving soon. The ride to the RIU took 3 hours, so in total our flight to Jamaica was shorter than the bus ride to the resort. I did take into consideration that other people had to be dropped off at other resorts but the bus ride and the wait never should have been FIVE hours. Myself and two others booked a shopping trip with Amstar and it was supposed to be for 2 hours. I paid for 3 people and told the Amstar representative that the third person had cancelled and booked a Dolphin experience with Amstar. I requested a refund with Jasmine the Amstar representative and that was on August 6, 2025 and I've yet to receive a refund. Once the Amstar representative picked us up for the shopping experience he dropped us off at a jewelry store which I assume has a partnership with Amstar. The neighborhood where the shopping experience happened was very desolate and the driver told us that he would pick us up at 11:45. The driver did not pick us up at the allotted time. He sent a taxi driver into the store and we were asked if we wanted to shop more and we told the driver No. The driver then relayed to the taxi driver that he had to let the other group experience The Dunns River tour. We were picked up an hour later. As of today's date, I've not received any refunds from AMSTAR or an apology letter about the horrible transportation. I wrote Amstar back in August and has yet to receive even a letter or my refund.

As a long time customer of AmStar in I can't tell you how many trips to the Caribbean. So for my wedding in negril Jamaica of course I would use AmStar as my transfer to and from the airport in Montego Bay to the Royalton resort and negril. The resort had partnered with another company for their airport transfers but due to my previous experiences with amstar I would not take a chance with another company. However, this time was a bad experience we had very little air conditioning on the little van that took us from the airport to our resort. It was an hour and 40 minute ride that was a pure misery. My sister arrived for the wedding the next day and her bus had the same. No air and then the bus broke down on the way. She got overheated and threw up. Once we got her situated the very next day I went up to the AmStar representatives on site and explained what had happened to us. I cannot begin to tell you the empathy that we received from Magon and Amelia The Amstar Representatives at the Royalton. They assured me that this was not a common practice of their company and to which I agree as I have never experienced this in All of my travels with AmStar. I told them that I wanted to cancel my return transfer and that I was going to book with the other company on site as at least the other guests that arrived for the wedding had air conditioning on their buses. Ms. Magon went above and beyond and not only getting our return trips canceled. We were refunded and we were also upgraded to a private transfer on our return trip to Montego Bay airport. The customer service shown from Magon and Amelia here at the Royalton was an amazing look for AmStar! Their efforts save the customer and will ensure again that I use AmStar on our next trip to the Caribbean.

I traveled in August 2025 with family and friends to Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Our flight came in at 1:00 pm, and according to our contract (which was arranged through our travel agent), we had until 2:00 pm to get transportation. I don't know what happened. We waited TWO HOURS for transportation to the resort! When we finally boarded a bus to take us to the resort, it took another 3 hours and 15 minutes. So, it took longer to get from the airport to the resort than it did to fly from the United States to Jamaica. I have been in communication with Amstar since returning from my trip in August. Our flight arrived on time, and we waited outside like we were instructed. I understand that it was a shared ride, so I knew it would take longer than if we had a private service. I also understand that we came during the weekend of Jamaican Independence. What I don't understand is why we had to wait two hours for transportation. Earlier this week, I was told that the bus waited for 37 minutes. How? When? After weeks of communication, I'm told the bus left after waiting for us? My contract states we had until 2:00 pm to get a bus. We were at the airport, so there must have been a miscommunication. Amstar refuses to take any responsibility, choosing to shift the blame to us saying the bus waited for us. Because the ride took place, all Amstar claims they can offer is a "goodwill gesture" of a measly $10.00 which I still have not received. I requested a refund for the ride from the airport to the resort. I think that's only fair. The ride from the resort to the airport was fine and took less than two hours. We spent five hours trying to get to the resort. Mistakes happen.That I understand, but to treat people with such disregard is not something I understand, and Amstar is guilty of that. Another company that cares more about profit than it does about people.

AMSTAR in Jamaica made the whole check in process at the airport, including checking bags, seamless! We had DANIEL HOLNESS assisting us and he was incredible! He showed us how to save money on checking bags. He told us everything we needed to know, so that when we left, we were absolutely comfortable with no questions! Well Done!!

We want to sincerely thank Jasmine at Bahia Principe Runway Bay for her incredible help. The morning after we booked our tour, we were told it was overbooked, even though we had already prepared everything and were ready to go. Jasmine quickly stepped in, contacted her manager and the driver, and managed to get our whole family on the next tour just 30 minutes later. She made many calls and went out of her way to make sure we didn’t miss our day. Thanks to her, we had a fantastic time. We’re truly grateful for her effort and professionalism!
