Outstanding day. Did the fly in to Millford Sound and skipped the 9 hour bus ride - worth every penny. Our pilot Ben was amazing. Once in a lifetime views flying over the Southern Alps. The boat cruise was beautiful and met all expectations. We got the “international buffet” on the boat. Mediocre at best. Recommend taking a pass on that and just eat big before you fly. The entire operation - from initial communications to pick up at the hotel to drop off everything ran like clockwork. A well oiled machine.

What an incredible experience. The sound is breathtakingly beautiful and we were lucky enough to go on a rainy day so we saw hundreds of waterfalls. The boat was spacious and comfortable and the cafe had lots to offer. The guide was knowledgable and gave lots of interesting information about the things we were seeing. The drive there is just as special as the boat ride and was really mind blowing.

We had the best experience with real NZ. We got the overnight cruise to Milford Sound and it was the best decision - we were lucky with weather but also our bus driver Dean was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and friendly, ensuring everyone had a good experience. The stop offs on route to Milford Sound were amazing. Thank you so much!

We booked the Milford Sound package with RealNZ and had a great overall experience. We’d also booked their glowworm tour, which unfortunately got cancelled due to heavy rain, but the Milford cruise itself was fantastic. We didn’t opt for the meal since we planned on having a big breakfast beforehand, but there’s a small pantry onboard where you can buy drinks and snacks. We brought our ponchos, which I’d definitely recommend — it’s usually damp with light drizzle throughout the cruise. We drove from Te Anau, and while it is quite a drive, it’s absolutely worth it. The roads are beautiful with lots of scenic stops, and I’d suggest arriving at least 30 minutes before your booking to make parking and check-in easy. We used the free parking area, which is about a 10-minute walk to the information centre. The cruise itself was very punctual, and the captain was excellent — friendly, funny, and really informative, sharing lots of interesting facts about the area and wildlife. We were also lucky enough to spot a seal lounging on the rocks, which was a highlight! The only downside was the boarding process. There were no clear queue markings at the start, so while some people waited properly, others wandered around and caused a bit of chaos right before boarding. Aside from that, everything else was smooth and enjoyable. Milford Sound is one of the most breathtaking places I’ve ever seen — truly unlike anything I’ve experienced before. An absolute must-do when visiting the South Island.

This trip was great, well organised and I'd recommend. We had Brian for our driver who picked us up in Te Anau. There was plenty of free parking along the lake nr the visitor centre collection point to leave the car all day. We made several stops along the Milford road to see views and along the way Brian gave us history and insight. Once at Milford Sound we made our way to the docking gate no. The boat was clean and plenty big enough for all the people. We did precooked the packed lunch. Other than to avoid queueing I'm not sure I'd recommend it. I wouldn't buy it again. The pastry and cake were delicious. Just not my taste of choice. The boat trip, again informative and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend the trip and I'll be looking at booking Doubtful next year
