We dont have experience trying other tours but based on reviews, the half day package is definitely worth it. The free buffet lunch was pretty delicious and the movie site tour was the best thing we did. The ocean voyage at the beginning wasn't amazing but still cool and worth it to get the free lunch. The views are spectacular of course and learning about the ranch and all that it does was very cool. I feel bad for those who dont get Elsie as their tour guide, she was amazing.

We did a tour so were picked up by bus at 7.15a. Our tour wasn't till 9.45a so sat around waiting. The 90 minute tour we did was the movie tour. Being an Aussie and living in the tropics we get when it rains! However one would think the transport would be adequately equipped to also keep you dry when this occurs. Nope, no windows and no plastic cover over the trucks to at least keep you somewhat dry. They run to schedule and the driver is nice and dry however the paying passengers are drenched. I picked this tour due to the amazing views described and seen in pictures so really wanted to see a little mountain and ocean combined. I know the ranch can not control the weather however they can control how wet one gets. Disappointed after paying $145aus dollars we really didn't see the views. I would still recommend doing this tour however don't do it when raining especially in a downpour. There was a lot of sitting around waiting which is a problem if you don't have your own vehicle. Take a poncho or purchase out there for $2.

On Friday, 14 November 2025, my partner and I visited Kualoa Ranch with hotel pickup from Waikiki, about an hour away. Our package included the Ocean Voyage and the Movie Sites Tour. The Ocean Voyage was enjoyable but fairly basic—about 30 minutes on a catamaran looking for turtles, followed by a short tour of a historic fishpond and some movie history. The included buffet lunch was plentiful with good variety. The Movie Sites Tour, however, was outstanding. Highlights included Battery Cooper, a WWII bunker carved into the mountain with historical displays and props from films shot on the ranch. The tour travelled through multiple filming locations for Jurassic Park, Lost, and many others. Our guide was exceptional, sharing impressive knowledge of both the movie history and the cultural history of the area. Horseback and ATV tours were unfortunately fully booked on the day. Highly recommend the Movie Sites Tour—an excellent experience.

We did the Jurassic Tour back in July including pick up and drop off - and it was amazing. The ranch and land they have is beautiful and so much history included. The bus driver was so kind, he told us about his background and about the island / points of interest as we drove past them. The day was just amazing - would recommend to everyone. I recommended to our family that arrived a day later and they actually went a couple days later and did an ATV tour that they also loved. Something for everyone to see on this property.

First off, buy your tickets in advance... as far in advance as possible. The ranch is beautiful and has plenty to do. I signed up for the half day visit and it was definitely worth the visit. I will say that the lunch was not exceptionally great, but it was not bad either. (Be sure not to leave food unattended or feathered friends will take it.) The ranch cinema tour was fun but the chances to explore are very limited. Be aware that the Jurassic tour is not the same tour, so you may want to consider that when booking. (It would be nice if you could could substitute the Jurassic tour for the ocean voyage.) The tour guides were great! A special shout out to the lady who got us ready to get on the bus. She was especially friendly and really went over the top with her interactions. (I didnt catch her name) It may not be all that exciting for kids as they are not going to probably enjoy it at the same level as adults but that is not to say it is not a family event. (The kids on our tour seemed to genuinely enjoy it, they just didnt get the magnitude of what they were seeing.) In short, this is a must do if visiting the island!
