The Square Mile, London's oldest neighborhood, has a rich history that has shaped the city into the global financial powerhouse it is today. Having survived both the Great Fire of 1666 and the Blitz of World War II, the area is a testament to resilience and transformation. Despite the modernity that surrounds it, the Square Mile is home to some of London’s most iconic landmarks, from a stunning cathedral to towering skyscrapers and ancient Roman remains, all packed into just one square mile.
This walking tour is the perfect way to explore the unique blend of old and new that defines the City of London. As we wander through hidden alleyways and stroll down medieval streets, you’ll experience the charm and history of a neighborhood like no other. Look up at the gleaming new towers that contrast with the centuries-old buildings beneath. Step back in time at London’s oldest church, a site rich in history, or visit a magical movie location that’s captured on film. And, of course, don't forget to take a selfie or two in the atmospheric ruins, where past and present collide in the heart of the city. Liz was an excellent tour guide. In 7 hours, I learned more about London, it’s buildings, and it’s people than I could have ever imagined. She was patient with our group of 12 and answered all the questions that we had. When she did not know one question, she promptly phoned a friend. All in all, excellent tour. Excellent guide. Would highly recommend

The walk leader was so informative and interesting he really made the walk! 10 out of 10.

I've done a number of walks with this company now, but today Brian's tour of The Tower of London beat them all! He's animated, knowledgeable, audible without a mic, and funny. I would HIGHLY recommend doing this tour as your way into The Tower.

The Free Tours by Foot for the WWII Tour is FANTASTIC! Canice Brannon is very welcoming and personable. His knowledge of the sites is great. We really enjoyed ourselves and everywhere he took us. Canice your are the best and thank you! Karen from Tennessee

a fabulous way to see london - the museum on a rainy saturday afternoon was incredibly busy and hence, a bit tricky to hear the tour guide, but the Little Venice tour was very interesting and tour guide funny.
