Sadly, Not the Experience We Hoped For – Wouldn’t Recommend for Families We’ve gone out with Capt Mike’s twice in the past and had decent experiences, but our most recent trip — which we took today for Father’s Day — was really disappointing and honestly felt unsafe. The ride was incredibly rough from the beginning. I felt extremely nauseous and asked for some alcohol to help prevent vomiting, but there was no first aid kit or even basic supplies on board. My husband and our 6-year-old were also feeling sick, and it was very clear the crew wasn’t prepared to deal with any kind of situation like that. The fishing stops were super rushed. We barely had time to get situated before the boat was moving again, and it didn’t feel like anyone was really enjoying themselves. Also, getting on and off the boat felt really dangerous — there’s a big gap between the dock and the boat, and I honestly don’t know how they’re allowed to operate like that without better safety measures. The fishing rods were in rough shape, and the front of the boat had such a strong smell of old fish that it just made everything worse for those of us feeling sick. I truly wouldn’t recommend this trip for anyone bringing kids or hoping for a relaxing day on the water. It might be fine for experienced fishermen or people just out to drink and hang out, but for a family outing — especially with younger children — I’d say look for another charter. This was not worth the risk.

I had such a great time with my son. This was the perfect trip. The Captain was very knowledgeable and professional. We had a blast. I highly recommend.

Great time! Went out with my family (four of us) and caught nine species of fish with rarely a lull in the action. Super fun. Capt Mike and his helper Braden were great with our two young kids.
