This tour surpassed my expectations. First, the trip getting there was very beautiful. Second, the tour guide was very knowledgeable, explaining every detail since we started, and very gentle. Third, I’ve done a lot of wine tastings but these tastings were personal, with the wine producers, in their homes. A real highlight!
Highly recommend this Vipava Valley Wine Tour. Perfect amount of time, beautiful drive, great stops, fine wine, and an amazing guide. It was a highlight of our trip to Ljubljana. As we tasted other wines from Slovenia, we came to understand just how amazing the wines from this tour/region were… some of the best wine we had. Our guide, Simone, was top-notch… so knowledgeable and great sense of humor.
Sabrina, our driver and guide, was very knowledgeable and she even worked her way around a couple of accidents. The two wineries and their owners were great hosts. We had very nice local cheeses, olives and prosciutto with our wine. All the wines were good and both tours were great. My wife and I loved everything! Thanks
We had an amazing time on this tour!! Our guide Matt was great and so much fun. He was very informative and wanted to show us the best time. The wine was all delicious. We tried so many different flavors and it was great to meet the people who made it. We had the opportunity to talk directly with the vineyard owners which made the whole experience very personable and memorable.
Definitely worth the money! We loved the overall experience: the guide was lovely, the wines were amazing and the snacks perfectly matched the wines. We were even able to drink some of the wines from the barrel! We had a good time with our small group. During the tour the guide had water available in the car.
Very interesting experience. Excellent organization of the event. Well-chosen date, winemaker, guide, sightseeing to spice up the event, ... The only comment would be on the train or carriage itself. Perhaps there is not enough space for tasting on the train. You have nowhere to put your glass of wine and then the glass warms up in your hands. I also suggest that water be offered more often. Some kind of table on the train would be welcome or choosing a more modern carriage. Or you could use plates with a glass holder, that would also be a solution. That's just something to think about; otherwise, as I said, everything was excellent and I recommend it to others!

This wine train is for now the only wine train in Slovenia. It is experience worth to visit and enjoy in high quality wines.
